What is Young Pilgrim?
An illustrated children’s retelling inspired by John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress. Part One follows young Chris; Part Two, Christiana’s Road, follows his mother and their family. Each part has 29 chapters, written in Chinese and translated into English.
How do the three English versions differ?
Young Pilgrim is this project’s modern family retelling. The Young Pilgrim by A.L.O.E. (Charlotte Maria Tucker) is a separate historical allegory, with its preface and all 28 chapters. Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress contains the complete original Parts I and II. They are separate works and editions, rather than three translations of the same text.
Can I read and listen for free?
The books and available audiobooks can be read and played on this website without an account or subscription. Both parts of the retelling have Chinese and English narration; the two historical English texts have their own narration.
Who is it for?
Parents and children reading aloud together, bilingual families, and readers exploring Christian allegory. Read a little at bedtime or discuss a chapter during family devotions. Parents can preview the stories and historical language to decide what suits their children.
How are bookmarks saved?
