1. Scope and licensors
The licensors are the project creator and contributors authorized to license their contributions. This license covers only rights they hold in new material and original code supplied in this project, including the Chinese and English adaptations, illustrations, new character designs and recordings. Rights are granted only to the extent they exist and belong to a licensor. Third-party software, fonts, assets and separately licensed material remain subject to their own licenses.

2. Noncommercial permission
Subject to these terms, you have worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive permission to use, read, copy, print, display, perform, share, translate, modify, adapt and further develop the licensed material for noncommercial purposes, including creating and sharing derivatives and modified source code. Churches, individuals, homeschool families, schools and other groups are welcome to do so without requesting advance noncommercial permission.

3. Meaning of noncommercial
A noncommercial use is not primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation. This free permission excludes sales of the licensed material or derivatives, paid access, use in paid courses, commercial advertising, merchandising, advertising- or subscription-monetized content, and other for-profit use. A nonprofit organization's sales or fundraising sales of this project's edition or derivatives also require separate permission. Free reading, distribution and reprinting for church groups, individuals and homeschool families are permitted. Paying your own printing costs and distributing copies free of charge is permitted.

4. Attribution and changes
When distributing copies or derivatives, reasonably credit “Based on the Young Pilgrim / 少年天路客 project”; retain existing author credits, source links, copyright notices and this license or an accessible link to it; and identify changes. Do not imply the original creator endorses or sponsors your work. 5. Commercial and character-design permissions

You may independently use the public-domain originals without this project's permission. Fair use, fair dealing and other statutory exceptions remain unaffected. Original electronic books obtained through Project Gutenberg retain their source, trademark and electronic-book license notices; the complete downloadable TXT includes those notices. Public-domain status in a particular jurisdiction is governed by local law.

7. Termination and liability
Permission terminates automatically if you breach these terms. If you correct a breach within 30 days of discovering it, permission is reinstated from the date of correction, without waiving liability for earlier breaches. Material is supplied as is, without warranties and without licensor liability for losses to the fullest extent permitted by law. No trademark, publicity, patent or third-party rights are granted.
